Talking about ragi or finger millet finds its origins in Africa and later became a staple in India as well. It’s known to be rich in iron, calcium, protein, and fiber and great for people who are gluten intolerant.

Ingredients 

  1. 1.5 cups dates, pitted and chopped.
  2. 1/2 cup of nuts like almonds, cashews, etc. of your choice.
  3. 2 tbsp flax seeds, 2 tbsp sesame seeds, 1 tsp chia seeds, 1 tsp sunflower seeds, 1 tsp pumpkin seeds.
  4. Cardamon powder and desiccated coconut are optional.
  5. 1 cup ragi flower.
  6. 2 tsp ghee.

Instructions

  • Start with dry roasting all the ingredients in ghee until fragrant.
  • Grind the nuts and seeds along with the dates.
  • Transfer all the ready ingredients to the utensil of your choice
  • Add Desiccated coconut and cardamom powder.
  • Let the mixture cool slightly and then mix all the ingredients with your hands because as per Indian tradition, it enhances the connection with food. 
  • Then form laddu’s (small balls).
